The Wonderful World of Panties!

The Wonderful World of Panties!

Greetings Dear Readers!

I hope you are well and wearing something pretty. First, a shout out to Nathan, who suggested a blog topic about lingerie. Thanks, Nathan. What a fun topic! Because the word “lingerie” covers such a large array of clothing, I’m going to limit this blog to the topic of panties – a topic I know you are all totally into, as am I.

The great majority of us got our start in cross-dressing with panties. A good number of us started by exploring mom’s or sister’s panty drawer and then progressed to buying our own. Some folks, once they are adults, limit themselves to underdressing under their everyday male clothing, while others of us progressed on to bras, hosiery, and finally outer clothing.

I was a late starter, having begun with underdressing in middle age. Do you remember the thrill of that first time you slipped into a pair of panties? I was so amazed by the choices. With men’s underwear, you have a choice of tighty whities or boxers. Of course, you could expand that to uh, tighty whities or boxers. Of course, you can also find male thongs, usually in, of all places, swimwear. With panties, you’ve got this amazing variety of styles, colors, and fabrics. Xdress/Body Aware has a huge selection, ranging from pretty grannies to bikinis, thongs, G-strings, tap pants, tangas – ah the list goes on! And the fabrics! Lace, satin, cotton, polyester. I’m all about comfort, and men’s underwear does not begin to measure up to the comfortable styles and fabrics of panties.

It’s interesting to me that, although I’ve been underdressing for many years now (I have one pair of men’s underwear that I wear for my annual physical with my very conservative doctor) that it is still a treat every morning to pick out the day’s panties. When I wore men’s underwear, I didn’t give a thought to the selection of underwear, as they all looked the same. Not so with panties. Every day it is fun to decide on what panties to wear. Is it like that for you?

Online panty shopping is the safest way to go, and Xdress/Body Aware panties are designed with the male physique in mind, in terms of the width of the gusset, which gives a very comfortable fit. It is also fun to go to the “other side of the store” and explore the panty section. I am very fortunate to have a very supportive wife, and we go panty shopping together. I find that shopping in stores appeals to my feminine side, plus it is just a bit risky, making it all the more fun. Part of the fun for me is wearing a very sexy pair of panties under my women’s jeans and nobody has a clue how hot I look under it all. Speaking of jeans, if you try on a pair of women’s skinny jeans, you’ll never go back to men’s jeans. I know, that’s off topic, but I just had to throw that in there.

Okay, so there are my thoughts on the topic. How about you? Are you a full-time panty wearer or limit it to weekends or special occasions? How old were you when you started underdressing? What are your favorite styles/fabrics? What is your preferred style of shopping – online or brick and mortar? Warm up those keyboards guys/gurls. You know I love hearing your stories.

Fond regards,

Angie

Angie; I must tell this lace panty experience. First I just LOVE wearing lace. A few years ago, before XD BA had an all lace brief. I just had to have it.
I wore it all the time. Well, I knew my Doc was gay so I took a chance and wore the lace to my next appointment. He went nuts ! Couldn’t keep
his hands off them. Now every time I see him I try to find something special he will like. We both enjoy the experience!

Now I get my lace from XD. But I have started getting my printed panties from Lane Bryant in the mall or on line. There clerks are helpful and a little older. They are accustomed to men buying their panties. They help with sizing and styles. Not like those young girls at VS who giggle every time a man sets a panty on the counter. Now I must shop for more lace. ;))

Hi Angie,

Like Stevie said, another winning topic.

I started with my older sisters panties at an early age. Maybe 12 or 13. That first time I slipped into panties was exquisite. In those days all girls wore nylon briefs and my sister had some really cute panties. I have no idea if the teenage girl next door had anything to do with my desire to wear girls clothes but she didn’t hurt my desire. When she took care of my sister and I she would dress me up as a girl with my sisters help. I protested but inwardly I loved it. The very first time didn’t include my sisters panties but subsequent visits did. I remember protesting more strongly when that happened but I knew then that panties were better than boys undies. When I was alone as a young teen I would completely dress and began wearing my sisters bras.

By my twenties and having my own place my desire to dress blossomed. OMG, I had so many panties, bras, garter belts and more. In those days there was no internet so my only real choice was to shop local stores away from home. I did the grab and dash thing and that resulted in buying the wrong size, style or whatever. Today I am very comfortable shopping in lingerie.

When I got married I temporarily stopped wearing women’s panties and bought some mens nylon undies that were available at the time. Pricey and not as feminine. My wife didn’t really like them and thought they were ridiculously expensive. One day she unexpectedly picked up a pair of Vanity Fair white nylon briefs and said “what about these”? Oh my I became an instant pantyboy once again. I don’t remember the time frame but I eventually added colors, florals, lace, other brands. Pink is my favorite color. Eventually my panties were prettier and more colorful than hers. Initially she put up a fuss but decided that there were just underwear. Today I own no mens undies. I even wear panties to doctors appointments now. That change began by wearing Jockey Elance cotton panties in black or white.

Over the years she has accepted more and usually we agree or she suggests. I started carrying man bags and now carry women’s. Most of my shorts are women’s. Some tops are women’s. I always look for styles that are unisex looking. My sneakers are mostly women’s. I wear a woman’s size 9. That started because I wanted more pink and pastels in my sneakers. She helped. Today many men have pink in their sneakers. She put her foot down on bras. I can wear nighties because they are at home and no one will see. Camisoles are only acceptable if they are plain with no lace or lingerie straps. All of my bath and toiletries are female. I shave my legs and under my arms.

I still get excited picking out panties and slipping into them. My fem side has become stronger over the years. Outwardly I still play the male role. However, today with the internet, sites like XDress and many others, a more open society with acceptance the LBGT I think of myself as a GURL.

I think the future for young men is good. More men will wear panties and other lingerie. I think even wearing so called girls clothes will become more acceptable. Same sex dating will be even more acceptable. XDress should enjoy the business benefits.

Thank you Angie, Keri

Ahhhh Angie
You’ve hit another winning topic!
I started with my moms shoes of all things and still have a strong fetish for heels and pretty feet
But I digress. It wasn’t long before i was in stockings and panties at the age of 8.
Fast forward 45 yrs. i m a full time panty person. I love all the styles and fabrics. I choose what to wear depending on my day and my mood. I have stealth panties for doctor visits and the gym.
I shop mainly on line but occasionally in person at SOMA or VS for the thrill and the joy of pushing the gender envelope.

You struck a chord when u described women’s jeans which i wear frequently with panties and painted toes. I will wear a bra if i m wearing layers like in fall and winter or at formal gatherings if i have on suit
As I ve said before if the panties are made for men and designed for men is it crossdressing? Just a thought
I love panties and matching bras! So xdress keep em coming!
